    • On December 14th:Prof. Masamine Jimba delivered a speech entitled ‘Poverty and Health Promotion at Global Level.’ He shared his perspective on the current global poverty and health promotion status, combining his humanitarian aid experience in Nepal.   • 2023.07.19-07.21 On July 19th to 21st, as the first vice chairman of the Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health (APACPH) and the chairman of the Taiwan region, teacher Betty Ya-Wen Chiu met with the National Health Service and the National Institutes of Health on Group Health Science The Institute, the National Taiwan University Institute of Health Behavior and Community Science, and the Collaborating Centers for Health Promotion (CCHP) affiliated to the international alliance jointly organized a 3-day "Asia-Pacific Health Promotion and Non-communicable Disease Prevention and Education Training" .
    On the first day of the event, 7 domestic teacher representatives from National Taiwan University, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Beijing Medical University, Chinese Medical University, National Cheng Kung University, Tzu Chi and Normal University were invited to introduce 7 core theoretical models of health promotion and introduce foreign case studies. As the main structure of the cross-university co-teaching syllabus, it is the first time in our country to build a consensus on the core curriculum of health promotion, and to conduct in-depth exchanges and discussions with scholars from the world's top National University of Singapore and the Tokyo University of Japan.
    The public speech on the 20th was very rare to invite 4 influence guests as speakers: Mr. Tay Choon Hong, Director of the Singapore Health Promotion Board, Dr. Yik Ying Teo, Dean of the School of Public Health, National University of Singapore, Japan Dr. Masamine Jimba, an honorary professor at the University of Tokyo, and Xu Zhicheng, deputy director of the Institute of Population Health Sciences of the National Institutes of Health in Taiwan, and other domestic and foreign officials and scholars participated, focusing on the six core competencies of health promotion, sharing countries' efforts in non-communicable diseases Disease control and prevention and related policy formulation and case studies. There were also participants from 15 countries including the United States, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, China, the Kingdom of Eswatini, Portugal, Belize, Saint Kitts and Nevis. Hundreds of experts and scholars in the field of health promotion and health officials participated in the event. After the speech, the foreign guests had an in-depth policy formulation and practical discussion with the central and local health officials sent by our country. All parties have collided with new ideas on how to promote and implement the non-communicable disease prevention and control plan, and have gained a lot.
    On July 20th, Professor Betty Ya-Wen Chiu hosted the & quot ; Asia Pacific Health Promotion and Non-communicable Disease Prevention & quot ; workshop at the College of Public Health, National Taiwan University. The event featured public lectures and invited four official representatives and expert scholars from the health sectors of Singapore Health Promotion Board(HPB), National University of Singapore(NUS), the University of Tokyo in Japan, and Taiwan's National Health Research Institutes(NHRI). Mr. Tay, the Chief Executive Officer of HPB, showed us how Singapore utilizes policy and regulatory measures, multi-sectoral partnerships, and data and technology to build up a healthy nation. Dr. Yik Ying Teo, Dean of NUS emphasized the importance of academic-government partnership in the formulation of health policies and illustrated how Singapore manages to establish a working model between government agencies and the universities to develop evidence-based public policies. Dr. Masamine Jimba from University of Tokyo highlighted the use of population health science not only in policy-making but also in developing case studies on NCD prevention. Dr. Chih-Cheng Hsu, Deputy Director from NHRI, discussed national-level precision healthcare and ICOPE operations in communities, as well as how Taiwan responds to chronic disease burden in the superaged era. Learning from their experiences has been invaluable.After the lectures, international guests engaged in in-depth policy formulation and practical discussions with Taiwan's central and local health officials.   • 2022.11.02-11.03  To enhance the students’ sensitivity of international health issues, Prof. Betty Ya-Wen Chiu invited Prof. Masamine Jimba from the University of Tokyo, Japan, and the former president of APACPH to deliver two speeches.(Department of Public Health)
    • On November 2nd:Prof. Masamine Jimba gave a lecture entitled "Infectious Disease and Global Health" based on his long-term research and practical experience in global health. His speech provided students with different global views on infectious diseases, which greatly broadened students' international vision.
    • On November 3rd:Prof. Masamine Jimba, as an expert who worked for WHO and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), gave a lecture on "Why I worked for WHO and JICA-a journey of humanitarian aid." Prof. Jimba shared plentiful precious practical experience and career path, including his works in Nepal, Vietnam, Cambodia, Palestine, and Jordan. All participants gave a high appraisal and positive feedback after the lecture.

  • 2022.09.22 Organized by Prof. Betty Ya-Wen Chiu, together with Vice Minister of Health, Dr. Chung-Liang Shih, Deputy Director-General, Health Promotion Administration, Dr. His-Lun Wei and KMU research team, went to Manila, Philippines to attend the 53rd Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health Annual Conference, Executive Council Meeting, General Assembly and Dean's Meeting.
    The KMU research team also hosted an International Advisory Committee Consultation Meeting to discuss about the further cooperation on NCDs prevention with 7 scholars from Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, and Sri Lanka.
    We also held a parallel symposia with theme entitled: “Achieving SDG3: Promoting Good Health for All”. To start this international symposia, Dr. Chung-Liang Shih, Taiwan Vice Minister of Health, Dr. Agustin Kusumayati, President of APACPH, and Dr. Hung-Yi Chiou, Director of Collaborating Centres for Health Promotion were invited to give the opening remarks. We also invited experts and representatives from Singapore, Taiwan, Japan and the Philippines to deliver speeches on the following four dimensions: “Digital Transformation”, “NCD/DM Monitoring and Action”, “Maternal and Child Health,” and “Health Workforce”.

  • 2022.08.17 The 19th International Network of Health Promotion Foundations (INHPF) Annual Meeting was held by Taiwan Health Promotion Administration (HPA), Kaohsiung Medical University and CCHP team via a virtual meeting. The theme of this year was “Health Promotion Policy for Global Action”.
    We specially invited Dr. Suvajee Good, Regional Advisor for Health Promotion and Social Determinants of Health, WHO South-East Asia Regional Office to be our keynote speaker and gave a speech on “The Importance and Direction of Health Promotion in the 21st Century”. Meanwhile, we also invited experts from Western Australia, Thailand, Korea, Southeast Asia Tobacco Control Alliance (SEATCA) and Prof. Kuo-Liong Chien from National Taiwan University (NTU), as well as Prof. Chih-Cheng Hsu from National Health Research Institutes (NHRI), representing Taiwan. By sharing the implementation of health promotion policies and the experiences from different countries, hoping that can enhance the competency of health promotion agencies and to achieve a sustainable society that is equal and healthy for all the public.
    A total of 244 participants attended this event and 97% of them shown the high satisfaction with this meeting.(Department of Public Health)
